On the 18th of September 2017, Ambassador Edit Szilágyiné Bátorfi attended the opening event of the project “Iron Curtain Cycling – creating a common cycling tourist destination aimed at integrating the border area divided by the Iron Curtain”.
To mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Caporetto, the Kobarid Museum, in cooperation with the Tolmin Municipality and several Slovenian and foreign historical societies, organised a historical re-enactment of the famous battle.
On the 11th of September 2017, our Embassy held the opening of the V4 Connects Film Festival, the first event to take place during Hungary's Presidency of the Visegrad Group.
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade paid a visit to Slovenia on the 5th of September 2017 in order to attend the Bled Strategic Forum, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia.
On the 26th of August 2017 the traditional Bogračfest was held in Lendava. Several thousand people attended the popular culinary festival, with 91 teams (the highest number to date) participating in the main event – the bograč cooking competition. A number of teams arrived from Hungary in order to take part in the competition.
On the 16th of July 2017 the Hungarian historic train “Isonzo Express” arrived to Slovenia for a five day commemorative tour of the Isonzo Front sites, this year taking place under the patronage of Mr. László Kövér, President of the National Assembly of Hungary and Mr. Milan Brglez, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia.
On the 13th of July 2017 the co-chairs of the Slovenian-Hungarian Joint Minority Commission met in Ljubljana.
On Sunday, the 9th of July 2017, an army band concert took place in Kobarid as part of the First World War centenary celebrations.
On the 10th of July 2017 the foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group held their first official meeting under the Hungarian V4 presidency. The ministers were joined by delegations of the Austrian, Slovenian and Croatian foreign ministries.
