On 20 November 2018, Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary paid a visit to Slovenia, where he met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Miro Cerar, Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Počivalšek, President of the National Cuncil Alojz Kovšca and MEP representing the Hungarian national minority in Slovenia Ferenc Horváth.

He also met with prominent Slovenian businessmen with whom he discussed the possibilities of strengthening Slovenian-Hungarian economic relations. During the one-day visit, the Minister also joined Prime Minister Marjan Šarec in attending the Slovenian Book Fair, which featured Hungary as the guest of honor.
