March 15 Celebrations in Ljubljana

On the 13th of March 2017 our Embassy and the Ljubljana-based József Attila Cultural Society organised an event in memory of the 1848-1849 revolution and war for independence.

On the 13th of March 2017 our Embassy and the Ljubljana-based József Attila Cultural Society organised an event in memory of the 1848-1849 revolution and war for independence.

The commemoration began with a wreath laying ceremony at the Ljubljana Castle. First, Deputy Head of Mission Mr Andor Dávid gave a speech and then the attendees of the ceremony laid wreaths before the memorial plaque dedicated to Count Lajos Batthyány. This was followed by a reception held at the Balassi Institute, the Cultural Center of the Embassy of Hungary in Ljubljana. The reception was opened by Ambassador Edit Szilágyiné Bátorfi who greeted the guests and then came a cultural program featuring the members of the Cultural Society and the students of the Hungarian Sunday School.
