On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, our Embassy organised a national day reception at the Ljubljana National Gallery, attended by representatives of the Slovenian government, the diplomatic corps and the Hungarian community living in Slovenia.

The reception, which took place on 20 October 2021, began with a speech by Ambassador Andor Dávid. After the speech, the Ambassador presented Hungarian state decorations to two Slovenian citizens. Robert Kokalj, Slovenia’s former Ambassador to Hungary (2017-2021) received the Middle Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, while László Herman, painter and teacher from the Prekmurje region received the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit.
