On 1 December 2017 an exhibition of mouth and foot painting artists opened at the Balassi Institute in Ljubljana.

The Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists of the World (VDMFK - Vereinigung der Mund und Fussmalenden Künstler) was founded in 1956 by German painter Arnulf Erich Stegmann who lost use of his arms due to polyomielitis. At the moment, the association has over 800 members from all over the world. In Slovenia their interests are represented by the UNSU publishing house, selling greeting cards, calendars and other items featuring reproductions of original paintings by mouth and foot painting artists.

At the exhibition, 12 Slovenian and 2 foreign artists displayed their work depicting elements of Hungarian and Slovenian cultural heritage. The exhibition was opened by Ambassador Edit Szilágyiné Bátorfi.
