On 24 October 2024, our Embassy organized a national day reception on the occasion of the anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.
The reception which was held in Ljubljana was attended by leading representatives of Slovenian politics, business and culture, members of the Hungarian national community in Prekmurje and the Slovenian national community in Porabje, as well as members of the diplomatic corps. At the reception, Ambassador Andor Ferenc Dávid first gave a speech, and then presented two Hungarian state decorations. Stanko Baluh, Personal Data Protection Officer and former Director of the Slovenian Government Office for National Minorities, and Silvester Gaberšček, ethnologists, sociologists and researcher working in the field of heritage protection, both received the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary. We thank our sponsors — OTP Banka, MOL, WHC Group, and the MOL New Europe Foundation — for their support of the event.
