On 17 November 2022, Ambassador Andor Dávid and Bojan Mlaj, the Headmaster of the OŠ bratov Polančičev Maribor primary school, opened the Maribor subsidiary of the Hungarian Sunday School run by the József Attila Hungarian Cultural Association.
In his opening speech, the Ambassador stressed the important role Sunday Schools play in the preservation of the Hungarian national identity and the development of Hungarian language skills. Apart from students and their parents, attendees included Jutka Rudas, the Head of the Department for Hungarian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts of the Maribor University, a representative of the Hungarian Association and the teacher, who will teach Sunday school. After the event, the Ambassador and the parents had a chat over coffee.
